Last Sunday, April 10, 2011, was when Panekuk Sanur (a Santa Ursula High School alumni mailing group) held a charity event to celebrate its birthday in the form of Baksos at the Children's Ward, Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Jakarta. The preparation took approximately 1 and a half moth before that and was done only via repetitive e-mails and coordinations. 
The main idea was to come and see the sick children, read stories, make puzzles, or draw together with our crew. We also give goody bags for the inpatients and provide lunches for the children, parents, nurses, and attending doctors. The contents of the goody bags were all donations from various member of the group including puzzle, drawing kit, and snacks. A heartfelt contribution was done by Lulu Budiman (owner of McDonalds Indonesia) who is an UrsaMagnaCharity benefactor. She donated 50 happy meals packages consisted of food and toys for the event. Wow! UrsaMagnaCharity also contributed by donating multivitamin and mineral for children included ion the goody bags given. 
The event was attended by 2 UrsaMagnaCharity staffs: Ariani and Fiona. Together with 10 other Sanurians, we had a great time sharing with the patients and families. Although perharps we cannot help them in a finacial way that day but we hope that the gifts and our presence can cheer them up and give hope along with strentgh to face the so many difficulites ahead. 
Thank you to the great Sanurians who had helped and UrsaMagnaCharity donors. We hope that this event is just one of many recurrent visits to the ward where we can bring joy to the children just by being there and sharing some of our blessing to them. Salam Serviam!
