Sprouted from two friends' idea to help sick children, more friends gathered their thoughts, time, and energy to set up our newly launched non profit group called Ursa Magna Charity. The name derived itself from our high school logo which portrays a specific star constellation, ursa minor. Well. We are all grown up now so we are Ursa Magna.
This group only consisted of very few people yet we are very passionate and committed to our vision. We are concerned with the sick children at public hospitals with major medical issues yet unable to get proper examination and treatment due to their families' financial condition.
Therefore, we have developed a system to hopefully be the way for us to help these children by disbursing the funds trusted to us by the kindhearted donors. The funds collected is pooled to one bank account and given to the patients by reimbursement through the doctors at the appointed hospitals. All we need is the complete forms filled by the patient and signed by the doctor. The doctor then contact our medical team to be reimbursed by enclosing the form and the original receipt.
We kindly request donors to give out to these children for they are truly in need of a proper medical treatment yet it is unavailable for them due to the lack of funds. Our medical team will sort the cases carefully and ensures that the treatment given by the doctors are appropriate and we prioritizes children with good outcomes. The children are the ones who are not insured by Gakin though during treatment, the Gakin can be processed and received. We will further evaluate the funds given upon such situation.
Other than emergency funds,we also encourage gifts from donors such as diapers, toys, books, or food. Ursa Magna will be more than happy to distribute such gifts and hosts events to cheer up the hospitalized children.
As an introductory message,we would like to get acquinted with everyone, donors, visitors, or funds partners.
